Maxi Shear is a full flush cutter with shear action blades, which barely pass as they cut so not to dull. Made of high-grade carbon steel with PVC grade carbon steel, the Maxi Shear will cut soft wire up to 14 gauge. And while the technical documentation on this shear does not mention using it to cut flex wire cording, we have used it for that purpose with good results. We caution, however, that heavy use of this shear on flex wire cording could lead to pitting along the blade edges.
